Classification and Application of Food Packaging Bag Types

Admin - 2022.04.27

Food packaging bags are a type of packaging design. In daily life, to facilitate the preservation and storage of food, product packaging bags have emerged. Food packaging bags refer to film containers that come into direct contact with food and are used to hold and protect it. In life, there are a large number of food packages and they cover a wide range of contents. Most foods are delivered to consumers only after being packaged. The more developed a country is, the higher the packaging rate of its goods will be.

In today's internationalized commodity economy, food packaging has become integrated with commodities. As a means to realize the value and use value of commodities, it is increasingly playing an important role in the fields of production, circulation, sales and consumption. Food packaging bags should be produced using food-grade plastic films, and are generally composite material packaging bags with more than two layers.

The diversity of food determines the rich variety and numerous types of food packaging bags with variable specifications. According to different classification standards, the classification of food packaging bag types also varies.

Firstly, according to the different raw materials used in the production of packaging bags, they can be classified as: low-pressure polyethylene plastic bags, polyvinyl chloride plastic bags, high-pressure polyethylene plastic bags, polypropylene plastic bags, etc.

Secondly, according to the different shapes of the packaging bags, they can be classified as: upright bags, sealed bags, vest bags, square bottom bags, rubber strip bags, sling bags, and special-shaped bags, etc.

Thirdly, classified by packaging form, they can be divided into: middle-sealed bags, three-side sealed bags, four-side sealed bags, yin-yang bags, stand-up bags, zipper bags, spout bags, roll film bags, etc.

Fourth, according to the functions of the packaging bags, they can be classified as: high-temperature retort bags, high-barrier bags, vacuum packaging bags, etc.

The fifth classification based on the manufacturing process is often divided into: plastic packaging bags and composite packaging bags.

In our daily life, foods like rice are usually packaged in vacuum bags, a type of food packaging bag. Vacuum packaging can reduce the oxygen concentration in the storage environment, inhibit the respiration intensity of rice and the reproduction of mold, prevent rice from becoming stale, moldy or infested with insects, and better maintain the quality of rice. Due to the high vacuum degree, the packaging material tightly wraps around the rice. However, the two ends of the rice are relatively pointed, and the packaging bag is easily punctured by the rice grains, resulting in the failure of vacuum packaging. During the circulation process of packaging bags, the friction, collision and dropping between bags can also easily cause the bags to break. Therefore, when conducting preservation packaging for rice, it is necessary to combine it with the circulation environment. Only in this way can good results be achieved.
